Thesis Topic:
Social Perspectives Related to Monarch Butterfly Habitat Restoration in Mexico and United States.

Short Bio:
I earned my bachelors degree in biology from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in 2004. After my undergraduate studies I participated as a consultant with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for about two years developing different activities in the ecological, social and academically fields within the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve and its influence zone in Mexico. In August of 2006, I earned a scholarship sponsored by the United States Agency of International Development (USAID) and Colorado State University (CSU) to obtain a master’s degree in Protected Area Management. My thesis is focused on the social perspectives
of different stakeholder groups involved in monarch habitat restoration in Mexico and the United States, two of the countries involved in the monarch migration route.

In the present, one of my principal goals is to increase my knowledge related to social and economical concerns linked to the protected areas of my Country.
